Those who passed their car test before 1st January 1997 will already hold the Cat. C1+E licence. However it will come with a 107 restriction. This restriction limits holders to a combination GVW of 8250kgs (7.5 tonne vehicle plus 750kgs trailer).

If you wish to remove the restriction, or simply want to upgrade your Cat. C1 (7.5 tonne) licence then you will need to pass the Cat. C1+E test.
