HGV/LGV TRAINING
CAT. C1 (7.5 TONNE)
If you want to be able to drive vehicles over 3500kgs GVW (3.5 tonne) and up to 7500kgs GVW (7.5 tonne) then you will need to gain the Cat. C1 driving licence.
Those who passed their car test before 1st January 1997 will already hold this licence. However for those that didn’t, you will need to past a practical test.
After gaining your provisional licence and passing your theory tests, candidates can go forward for training straight from a car licence.
NOTE: You can also go forward for the Cat. C (Rigid) licence directly from a car licence.
